Frequently Asked Questions
|
|
|
In
order to help you plan your fishing charter, we
have listed some of our frequently asked
questions below. Please don't hesitate to give
us a call if we can help answer any of your
questions or concerns. We want our customers to
be well informed so that the charter fishing
trip they receive is the charter fishing trip
the expected. |

Q: |
How many passengers are you able to take on your boat? |
|
| |
|
A:
|
Our US Coast Guard license allows us to take up to six customers.
This is typically referred to as a "six pack"
license. We can also take smaller groups if you
want your charter fishing to be more targeted
towards you individually. Smaller charter groups
can often be merged into a larger group by
joining in on one of our "make
up charters". |

Q: |
Will
I need a fishing license? |
|
| |
|
A: |
The
boat has a blanket fishing license so it will
not be necessary for you to purchase any
additional licenses for your offshore fishing
trip. |

Q: |
Can
we keep the fish we catch? |
|
| |
|
A: |
Definitely. Although we encourage the release of
all billfish like blue marlin, white marlin, and
sailfish, we also will keep a fish box full of
ice so that we can keep your catch fresh. The
customer has the decision on keeping any
allowable legal fish.

Q: |
What
about filleting the fish when we get to the
docks? |
|
| |
|
A: |
You
will have the option of taking your fish with
you or using the fish cleaning station available
at our docks. Please remember to bring along a
large cooler to leave in your vehicle until we
return. |

Q: |
Should we tip the mate? |
|
| |
|
A: |
The
mate is the hardest working guy on any offshore
fishing trip. In North Carolina, it is customary
to tip a good mate between 15% and 20%.

Q: |
What
should I do if the weather is going to be bad? |
|
| |
|
A: |
Please always plan on being at the dock at the
scheduled time unless you hear from the captain
directly. It has been our experience that
most customers aren't aware just how much better
the weather can be out on the water! If the
weather conditions are such that the captain
decides that an offshore trip will be unsafe, he
will at that time give you your option of
rescheduling your charter or getting a full
refund of your deposit.

Q: |
Will
I need my own fishing rods and reels? |
|
| |
|
A: |
We
are proud to supply our charter customers with
the latest high tech rods, reels, line, lures,
and fishing tackle along with the freshest bait
available as a part of our charter packages. If
you have a special rod and reel or lures that
you would like to bring along please let the
captain know ahead of time so that he can make
the necessary arrangements for storing your
property safely and so that he can plan your
trip so that you will be able to use it.
